The HBO show will conclude with its eighth season, though there’s still time to add a few new characters, it seems. The series saw a number of deaths in season seven, including Littlefinger’s shock downfall. There was also the murder of Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon Viserion, though the beast was later re-animated by the Night King.
And it seems producers are keen to replace them with some more – two new children. The first, as reported by Watchers On The Wall, is for a northern girl, around the age of eight. The youngster is described as a straight-talking northern-accented girl and remarkable for her dauntlessness and integrity.
She’s been raised in a family of soldiers and has inherited their fearlessness, making her sound a lot like Lyanna Mormont. The fan site suggests the role may not be for a new character at all, but a younger version of Lyanna Stark. The second character is for a boy aged eight to 12, physically fit and with an agile look.
Needing a distinctive face, the lad as from a poor background who has had to fight to get ahead.
It seems he’ll have multiple scenes, though no specification on height or skin colour was noted. That suggests he’ll be from King’s Landing, as there are plenty of poor people within Westeros’ capital.
How will these newbies fit in with Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister and the gang?
Game of Thrones is set to return in late 2018 or early 2019.
